Formally known as United Hope, UHREC is a community-based primary school located in Metro Prima, Kepong. We are proud to serve refugee children from diverse backgrounds, offering them a safe space to learn, grow, and dream.
United Hope began its humble journey in 2018 with just 50 students and a big dream to provide education, care, and hope to children who needed it the most. Today, we are a growing school family with over 200 students, and our hearts are just as full as they were on day one.
At United Hope Refugee Education Centre (UHREC), we provide primary education from Nursery to Year 6 for refugee children who have limited access to formal schooling. Our focus is on both academic learning and character building through subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Arts.
More than just teaching, we create a safe and loving environment where every child feels seen, supported, and valued. Many of our students come from challenging backgrounds, so we give equal importance to emotional care, respect, and strong teacher-student relationships.
At UHREC, students don’t just learn—they become part of a family.
At UHREC, we believe that learning should be balanced with fun and new experiences. Every year, we take our students on outings where they can relax, explore, and enjoy time outside the classroom. These trips help build friendships, confidence, and happy memories that last a lifetime.
Every year, we celebrate our Annual Sports Day with games like tug of war, racing, and many more. It's a day full of teamwork, energy, and joy—ending with prizes and trophies for our young champions.
Our Year-End Celebration showcases the talents of our students through singing, dancing, and performances. We also honour top achievers in academics, behaviour, and other special categories.
Our mission is to educate and uplift refugee children by giving them access to quality learning, emotional support, and a sense of belonging. We aim to build strong foundations so they can grow with confidence and hope for a better future.
Our vision is to create a world where every refugee child has the right to learn, grow, and shine—no matter their background. We want to raise students who are kind, confident, and ready to make a difference in the world.
